Submissions are Still Open!

We are still accepting submissions for our 2021 showcase at the Magic of Horror festival in Richmond, Virginia this November!

There are two different competitions this year:

Classic Magic of Horror:

Short films, short and feature-length screenplays, trailers, movie posters, music videos, artwork, costumes, and SFX makeup

Magic of Horror Feature Film Competition:

Our new competition specifically for feature-length films.

Both are accepting submissions until September 30, 2021

Special Presentation

Since our 2020 live event was postponed, we weren't able to premiere this film from Lost In The Woods. So instead, we'll just show it right here!

Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Since COVID-19 has been putting quite a damper on both festivals and film productions everywhere, we are pleased to announce the opening of our online festival especially for feature films.

Here's the best part... Any films that have already been released are welcome to enter this competition!  Have a feature film that has been buried under hundreds of others on Amazon, Youtube, other streaming services, or in the DVD bargain bins?  This is the competition for you! We will be heavily promoting the selected films in press releases and social media to help resurrect them.

The selected films will NOT be screened online. We'll be holding an awards video that will be available for the public (Just like we did for our 2020 Finalists in September) and feature trailers or clips of these films as we announce the winners.

Submissions are now open! Get all the details by clicking on the submission button below!

2020 Magic of Horror Awards Show

Our 2020 live event has been moved to late 2021, but we're holding a "virtual" awards show for the finalists!

The show premieres on September 20th at 9:00pm EST

Saturday, August 15, 2020

We are now accepting submissions for our 2021 live event!

Asides from our usual short film, trailer, poster, and screenplay competitions, this year we've added some new contests to celebrate even more artistry in horror!

New contests include music videos, artwork, makeup, and costumes!

See our page on FilmFreeway for all the details!
