2019 SHORT SCREENPLAY COMPETITION

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.
KEEP AN EYE ON THIS WEBSITE FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS REGARDING OUR 2020 EVENT!
This year, as we enter our third season, The Magic of Horror is moving from an online festival to a live venue and shining its spotlight on short screenplays.
All screenplay finalists will be competing against each other at our event on December 7, 2019 at the historic Firehouse Theatre in Richmond, Virginia.

Attending screenwriting finalists will receive two complimentary tickets to the festival. There will be vendors and libations for filmmakers, writers, and film-goers to meet, greet and connect with one another.

The event ends with the awards ceremony where the winner of the screenwriting competition will be announced.

The Magic of Horror celebrates all kinds of films in the horror genre. Creepy creatures, psychological thrillers, gothic tales, supernatural terrors, or even good old-fashioned slasher films, we think they all have the magic to scare the pants off of movie-goers!
